There are times where you wish to do a complete fresh factory reset – where not just the custom information is deleted, but the entire software binaries get refreshed and re-installed as if it just first left the factory. Usually, you would like to try this option if the factory reset option doesn’t resolve the issue.

NOTES:
When you initiated this option – the firmware level will revert to the original version when you first received the system. Any subsequent firmware update will get reset, and you will need to do the upgrade again. You can download the latest firmware here: https://www.imrsprime.com/support-firmware-upgrade/

You will need to reactivate the license key after the recovery boot – or after the firmware upgrade.

How to Initiate the option:

  1. Bring up the advanced menu settings

2. Choose Extended Settings

3. Choose Forced Recovery boot option

NOTE: ONLY PRESS THE BUTTON WHEN YOU ARE READY TO PROCEED. THERE IS NO FURTHER PROMPT/CONFIRMATION

4. Once you select the option, the system will initiate a self-installation process, which could take about 15-20 minutes. This is similar to the firmware upgrade process that you may experience earlier prior 2.01 version (refer: https://imrsasia.com/kb/prime-sw-update/). DO NOT interrupt the recovery process. You may see the command-line prompt, screen display flipped upside down, etc. This is normal. When the recovery process is complete, the system will return you back to the standard startup (contraindication) screen.

5. You may be prompted to select language. Continue with any newer firmware update first before setting your system time or entering your activation code. Refer to this article on how to activate the license key
